About the event:
DESIGN THINKING WORKSHOP FOR STUDENT ENGINEERS
Aurecon is taking the lead in education by offering a Design Thinking workshop for all professional and emerging engineers as well as for engineering students at Open Design 2017.
Workshop 1: For Student Engineers
About the event:
Every day, engineers are tasked to solve problems created by people, or for people. It is therefore essential that a user centric approach be applied to problem solving, especially in complex scenarios where many different stakeholders are involved. Design Thinking is a discipline that provides tools to better plan for the future. It provides an iterative approach to align our strategies with the end-user’s needs to make sure our solutions are relevant, realistic and sustainable.
Aurecon, one of the largest engineering companies in Afrika, has embedded Design Thinking in the way it approaches complex problems. We will be sharing our Design Thinking philosophy with professionals and students during two innovative workshops. We welcome you, as a student engineer, to come and join us for a three hour Scoping Workshop to unpack a chosen complex issue. By spending focused time, with a diverse group of people, problems become simplified and more creative solutions are possible.
Spaces will be limited to 24 people for this master class, so don’t hesitate to RSVP to Zoë Palmer of Aurecon to secure your spot.
