About the event:

Kids between the ages of 7 and 13

Come play with light and paper and explore building things and how to use them to create your own shadow-theatre show!

Children will learn how to use newspaper and cardboard, an inherently weak and flimsy material. They will also explore the relationships between its shape, and the stability and strength of the structure created. Explore various building techniques to create sturdy shadow-puppet theatre and puppets.

Use everyday materials to create model theatres, puppets and other tools and explore the world around us. The children will finally use their theatre and puppets to create a performance that we’ll record and share on Youtube!

This drop-in workshop mixes classic activities with open-ended investigations, encouraging young participants to follow their hunches to aha moments of design insights.

All materials provided; take what you make.
